Human beings, the amazing creatures of the planet Earth, are blessed with the magic of nature. The life of a person just doesn’t go the way it is. We need to carve it ourselves with our own hands. We tend to change ourselves with the people around us. With this power some questions stand in the way of our life. Who are we? Why are we here? What’s our sole aim? What makes us unique? The answer lies in the heart of every unique person. One succeeds in his life by finding this very answer.
VASAVI is a place where you are succored in the times of hardship. Our own determination has made us land in this charismatic place. We as a student stand in the middle of opportunities. Now it’s the right time to lay robust roads which lead us to our destination equipped with extracurricular activities.
One might make us sleep tight with their songs, whereas the other compels us to dance to their amazing dance movements. One thinks to come up with a company in the future whereas the other mesmerizes everyone with his musical instrument. One might help the needy with their services in the city whereas the other gets appreciated for his beautiful art. To enhance one’s non academic skills and to create a yearning desire Vasavi presents the spectacular clubs in our college. The main aspiration of these clubs is to make the students discover their talents, refine them and secure a respectable position in the society. The various clubs surround us like the planets in the solar system and our responsibility lie in sending a rover to any planet you heart craves for. The various clubs which are ready to deliver their full potential and help us are:
1.Swayam
Swayam is the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of our college which aims to encourage students to be entrepreneurs and guides them to become one. The several departments of this club help us in recognising skills within us that inculcate team effort. Seminars and workshops provide a platform for the students to foster entrepreneurship skills. Students get the opportunities to attend the seminars by the successful and renowned entrepreneurs where they learn skills to be a successful entrepreneur. The various departments under Swayam are:

Swayam is the highly respected and an exclusive club where you can expect the recruitment to be very selective. The procedure is effortless. Initially a form will be uploaded on the Swayam’s facebook page. One has to fill this form with their department choice. Then a fixed number of people will be shortlisted and contacted for an interview which is the final round of selection. Finally the interview results will be communicated through calls or messages to the selected students and they become a part of this renowned club.

2.Newton’s Apple
The electronic publication which always keeps you informed about the college is the one and only magazine of our college called as the Newton’s Apple magazine. It not only includes the stuff about our college but also the recent trends of the world and information of other colleges. This magazine provides you an opportunity to enhance your writing skills, technical stuff and thinking process. The various departments of this magazine are:
Journalism: The role of this department is to distribute the reports on the interaction of events, facts, ideas and people that are the news of the day in the college.
Technical: This department provides the information about the developing technologies in the world.
Editorial: The key to success of the magazine lies with the editorial team as they team up with the Journalism and technical departments and ensure that the magazine is error free. To join this department one has to have a flair for English.

3.Street Cause
Street cause is a club where you buckle down for the welfare of the society. The members of this club raise funds and interact with the common people to solve their problems to their maximum. It recently won “DEDICATED DIVISION AWARD” in the Service Recognition Awards.
This club includes one president, one co-president, five vice presidents and five chief coordinators and five coordinators under each vice president. The members who are not a part of this club may not dishearten as one can volunteer as the only skill required to work in this club is the passion for helping.
Recruitment process for the year 2016 has been completed except for the coordinators. For recruiting Executive board, only personal interview will be conducted. In order to recruit coordinators a group discussion followed by personal interview will be conducted.Coordinators recruitment for 2nd years will be announced soon

4.Theme Ballet
This club is a gateway to the art form which consists of purposefully selected sequences of human movement which is called as the dance. This club showcases their talent on the day of Euphoria which is the cultural fest of our college. It moves rhythmically to music for other fests like fresher’s day etc. as well
Anyone who can promise that they can dance to any tune can join this club. Every year recruitments will be done after the fresher’s week.

5.Abhinay
This club stands as a good competitor to Theme ballet. It’s been 12 years since it first came into existence. Even this club comes out for almost all the fests in our college. Anyone can be a part of this club and the only criterion is commitment towards dance.
They recruit people through auditions which will be held in the month of November.

Abhinay performance at Euphoria 2k16
6.Sarvatra
Singing is the art of expressing your thoughts with melody .To learn this art, here is the Sarvatra, the music club of our college. It consists of more than 25 people from all the 4 years. They come out to rock with their own composed songs and music in almost of all our college fests. The themes composed in the last two euphoria fests (Euphoria 2k15-Evolution of music in the last 20 years, Euphoria 2k16-A tribute to A.R Rahman) made everyone wonderstruck.
Apart from singing one can play drums, guitar, keyboard and any other musical instrument they think they are master at. Auditions will be held every year before euphoria where music lovers are selected and they get a chance to rock the stage.

7.Krithi
Good at art?? Then here’s the platform for you. Krithi is the club where you can give life to lifeless things. It mainly focuses on the creativity of the person and enhances one’s art skill. Anyone who is willing to contribute their artwork is welcomed by this club. The various activities performed by this club are sketching, painting, origami or at any other art. These members participate in all the fests of our college.
No special recruitment process is there for this club. Recruitment dates will be announced in the classrooms.

8.Eco club
Eco club is a forum run by our College students to develop a clean and green environment. The club consists of an Executive Board, which runs under the guidance of Mrs.Meena (H&SS Dept).This club conducts an event every month creating awareness to inculcate interest in students for healthy and clean surroundings.
It recruits the students from the first year who can express their ideas and contribute to the wellness of the nature.

9.Society of Automobile Engineers(SAE)
This is the club dedicated to mechanical students. New advances in automobiles will be discussed and they will design vehicles for the National level competitions. They recently designed a car for the competition which was held in Delhi.
There is a special criterion for recruiting. Interested people can be a part of this.

10.National Service Scheme
NSS is a social welfare club. The various activities done by this club are for the wellbeing of the society. A recent activity includes a blood donation camp in our college where students came forward to donate blood. In the last 2 years, funds were raised for Hud Hud victims, Chennai flood victims, orphanages and even for developing village areas. They even worked for a village development program in Balaji thanda, Mahbubnagar. In 2016, they took an active participation in Haritha Haram program.
Any interested candidate can participate in this club. There is no special criteria for recruiting people.

11.5th Pillar
5th Pillar has been working against corruption, in Gandhian way in Tamil Nadu for the past 9 years. They empower the citizens by giving them the “ZERO RUPEE NOTE”(ZRN), a”Non violent weapon of Non-cooperation against Bribery”which sents an underlying message,”I will report you if you don’t deliver my service without stalling any more for want of bribe”. So far they’ve distributed 3.5 million copies of the ZRN across 45 districts of India.
The Hyderabad Chapter of 5th pillar was launched at Vasavi College of Engineering this year. A team of enthusiasts have conducted campaigns and are working on resolving some issues and are doing great.
