Prologue

It had been an unusual afternoon for Jessica. Her feelings were all over the place. To keep them at check she had immersed herself in routine chores. She remembered her mom taking her out on long drives whenever she felt uneasy.”That’s what  I’m gonna do too.” she thought to herself as she picked up her car keys from the desk and got out of her condo. As she was locking it up,her entire body went numb and all of a sudden she felt all her life-force was being drained away. “I gotta get myself out of here”she mumbled while scurrying to her car. After being seated on it her only thought was to go to a place where she could spend her time in solitude.

Meanwhile a couple of blocks away Tasidan was getting fed up of being stuck at the same level of game of Dark Souls for three hours. “Something is messing up my thought  process. I wonder if it’s because of the game or something else,”Tasidan was contemplating when all of a sudden he froze. It was like the atmosphere of the house was suffocating him. He felt some fore trying to drag him outof his home and lead him somewhere. Acting on this he just stormed out of the house to go some place elsewhere.

He boosted the volume of the song inorder to coax the apprehension of his heart. Whereas, Jessica tried to maintain her composure. Tasidan drove past his college and pulled up his car with a thud. He walked through the entrance brooding over his thoughts.

Jessica had a sudden sugar craving. So, she pulled up at the college’s cafeteria. She left her sling bag on the table which had a few of her syringes, a lip gloss, a masacara and a few pills in it. And she went to buy her favorite chocolate.

In a melancholy, Tasidan started walking towards the college’s basement, through the front door. Where as Jessica took a bite from her chocolate and sluggishly picked up her bag and started walking around. When her brain was fixated on maneuvering the chocolate, her feet led her through the side entrance of the basement.

It was dark in the auditorium. Tasidan pushed the wooden door and there was a steep staircase. It looked like it had been abandoned for years. Tasidan was walking through the wilderness of dark with a Swiss knife in his hand and a grim face.

Jessica kept her unfinished chocolate into her sling bag and grabbed her auburn hair into a bun while pacing through the murky basement.

From a distant flickering  yellow light, he saw a girl far away from the stairs with something in her hand .It was not clear in the dark if it’s a rod or a handbag .He started to walk towards her. He could only hear the sound of his footsteps and the water falling on to the ground leaking from a pipe line.

Tasidan and Jessica in the pitch black basement came so close to each other that they could hear their hearts racing like newborns.            He  saw an arm ripped off. He could not recognize till then that he was standing on  an eyeball. In that little light,he could see a dead body with no arm, eyes gouged and the wall covered with blood.

Just then the lights at the end of the basement  flickered on. Through the dim reddish glow of the lights, they stared into each others eyes. he then whispered into  her  teensy ears. “They’ll see us! We have to leave now!”.
