LESSONS TAUGHT BY AN ANONYMOUS TEACHER!

Probably the world should have seen the formation or evolution of its first new species by now if the 2012 world ending plot was successful as per the astronomical rumour that had spread, call it your good fortune or blame your bloody damn luck, we all are stuck in the continuous comprehensive world!. To be honest, i was curious enough to see the ending of the world, because I merely wanted a change over! even though i loved this planet dearly! I liked the idea of the world ending as i would rather call it a ‘combined evacuation’ forced by god and like every other Indian who checks out the electricity in their neighbouring house during a power crisis, i was happy that we were ALL going to accept the so called” ending”. Anyhow, since the world had resumed its rotation and revolution around the good old sun and no asteroid seemed interested in our planet, so i had to move on with the motto of “moving on”!

For me every year was a gift full of surprises which i would involuntarily and unconsciously open on the morning of 1st of January with a ready to break list of resolution starting from the promise i made to mom from my very first grade that i Would brush my teeth twice, unfortunately i have also broken the record of breaking that resolution the very 2nd day! With have broken all my resolution in by the second day of first month i lay on the bed thinking about how i would spend the rest of the year in the most unique manner . so i just rewind my past and take a look at the few previously unexpected lessons taught by an anonymous teacher (some call him Experience, other Life …i like to maintain him anonymous) .I was not a good student in the beginning, but eventually i started learning those precious lessons of my life which no school or college taught me. i just re-winded those chapters and had a thorough revision before i gave the real test of life, these are the notes I prepared u too can have a look!:

Chapter 1: The theory of being Non – Judgemental!

Judging people is something i have forced myself stop but end up doing it again, sometimes I feel being judgemental about the person who you know very well or even a total stranger seems to be running in our blood ,but mind me it might cost u a friend and also sometimes raise question on your humanitarian values. We should not underestimate someone even if we think we know them well because we cannot judge their true inner potential. In case of a total stranger our mind starts instantly analysing them only based on the one external factor that is LOOKS!..I guess the very saying that” looks are deceptive” should have stopped us from doing so, but it seems completely out of control and you cannot cease your mind from thinking about how they would be. So this new year i decided to stop being judgemental and even if my minds starts building up thoughts about a person i would simply ignore them and just wait and allow the person to open themselves in their own unique style.

Chapter 2 “Understanding -EXPECTATIONS”

Expectations has evolved a different meanings through times, we do not limit ourselves from expecting, we expect on anything and everything that is possible incessantly even if it is the smallest thing like, we expect our parents to pamper us all the time and we expect our friends to be with us always , disregarding which ever situation they are in, we expect our home team to win the match even though according to scores we know that it shall lose, so basically we are expecting for a miracle to happen, expectation has now become synonym for the sudden miracles. It is not wrong to expect but it is truly sad because we are unable to face or cope up the disappointment (if occurs not in all cases) and tend to in remorse all the day, so i decided that i shall only expect when i am quite sure about the results of a certain action and not on the every random thing which triggers my disappointment.

Chapter 3: The Importance of Patience

Patience please! this is the sign we usually see at the bill counters of banks, hospitals and other places of rush, but i think it’s high time we introduce this sign on our day to day activities. let me give u an example i shall take a movie theatre entrance scenario:, thanks to the advancement in technology we can now book the tickets and the system even allots us the seats in the theatre with the alphanumeric seat numbers, yet during the entrance in the theatre hall, we rush as if in an RTC bus to catch the seat, might be for few it’s the habitual instinct, for some it’s the happiness they get when they know they were the first to enter the theatre!!.. for some the fear that they may miss the movie sequel at the start which is essentially an important sequel of health advisory or cigarette smoking .

The queue is the place where the person standing in front of feels a superiority over the others standing behind and this superiority exponentially disintegrates along the queue and the person standing in the first is the supreme leader, in order to achieve this momentary superiority they tend to lose their basic civic sense!. even i am to be accused for i have also been tempted to such offers. so i decided that i shall hold a bold smile and wait patiently everywhere assuring my mind that neither is my seat going to be hijacked nor is my health so poor that a simple awareness posted at the theatre hall going to change my life.

Chapter4: The need of Apologizing

Apology! the first thing that comes into our mind when you hear the word is the sense of shame or regret for your action and that is why we go for an explanation rather than a simple sorry, but what few people fail to understand is that it actually tends to raise your respect in others mind.

The main reason for us being reluctant to apologize can be many, but whatever may be the reason sometimes a simple word like sorry can help you retrieve your relations, bring back the long lost happiness and regenerate a sense of belonging. This new year I shall strengthen my relations through proper apologies.

Chapter 5: The Significant uses of INTUITIONS

(not always though!).Intuitions are the sudden flash of thoughts which appears in your mind, you are obsessed or depressed or engrossed in a particular action or event. These thought give u a glimpse of the near future in a random fashion that we hardly pay attention to .(from the book 13 steps to bloody good luck by Ashwin Sangh) “intuitions our (inner wizards) whisper, where as our inner critic shouts!”, it depends on us on how sensitively we hear our intuitions. Not all intuitions are meant to be followed, we need to weigh all the pros and cons effectively and take a convincing step forward! So let me use this sixth sense to make my life better.

Chapter 6: POSITIVITY

i think we all are pessimistic in nature, one way or the other, we seldom resort ourselves to positive thinking, if asked why? we blame the circumstances in past which has generated a sense of awareness in you and alerts you in all way possible ,but there are a few things we need to reckon before we come into a conclusion about a certain event that whatever happens happens for good. Whenever we sense a omen , we get so inclined to the negative side of it that we convince ourselves about its evilness and end up being afraid of it!. .we never even try to look at its positive side. so, this new year i decided to give it a positive approach.

Chapter 7: Realizing Pollution

Every time your grandmother from the village asks you about your frequent ill health, we blame the innocent panipuri, the gullible ice cream.. if we are unable to find the potential reason then we have the most ridiculous reply CLIMATE CHANGE! ..We acknowledge the very fact of climate change,we like pages in FB and rely on Paris for every time an event has to occur in Paris for the entire world to get serious about it, be it the Paris terrorist attack, or the meeting at Paris regarding the environmental issues like global warming, but somewhere in the corner of our heart is a truth hidden which we reluctantly accept, that we are the provenance for the beginning of everything! Like said “it’s always in the precipice of destruction that a change is evolved”(from the movie “the day the earth stood still”),lets support and respect the steps taken up by the government or any other committee and repair the earth! These were SAPTASUTRA that my teacher taught me,for being a lovable person( and I hope these stay imbibed in me for the rest if the year and not like any other ready to break resolutions).Wish me luck! so that i pass the test of life with flying colors. Let’s all try and eliminate the bad in us and welcome the good in us with this New Year!! -MALAVIKA PRASAD,BE-2/4
